MLK day at ABHS - A day ON

Amy Biehl High School (ABHS) is a public charter school whose mission focuses on scholarship and service. Every year for the MLK Jr. federal holiday, we have a "day on, not a day off" where we spend the morning celebrating Dr. King's legacy and the afternoon serving organizations in our community.

Here is the schedule for the event:

8:30 - Potluck Breakfast begins with DJ Mykawave

  • 9th grade - bringing baked goods (donuts, muffins, bagels)
  • 10th grade - bringing breakfast items (eggs, burritos, etc.)
  • 11th grade - bringing plates, napkins, utensils

9:30 - Program Begins

  • Welcome
  • Student Music Offering
  • Student Poet
  • Hakim Bellamy (Poet Laureate)
  • Jessica Lopez (Poet Laureate)
  • DJ Mykawave
  • Conclusion

10:45- Advisories head out for service

2:00 - Students Return from Service Sites

2:15 - Ramp Jam and Skate Board Giveaway (see flyer)
