Competitions Flares and Computers Fly at the Urban Olympics

 

“What place was I in the tricycle race?” gasped a panting New Mexico Bank & Trust employee. Albuquerque business people are seriously competitive.
 
Participants in the first annual Urban Olympics raced tricycles, office chairs, ran in heels, and shot putted PCs on 4th street downtown on Friday afternoon, June 11th .   "It was a terrific event that helped pull together the downtown community in support of a very worthy cause- scholarship and education.” said Dan Drennan of PNM.
 
The event pulled in 150 participants and spectators. Organizers hope it will one day compete with other large fundraisers like Mudd Volleyball.
